KeepSolid VPN Unlimited Security

75%

KeepSolid VPN Unlimited offers several security solutions to ensure your safety and privacy online. Firstly, the provider uses advanced AES-256 bit encryption and a variety of secure VPN protocols to create a strong VPN connection.

The VPN protocols on offer include OpenVPN, L2TP/IPSec, IKEv2, WireGuard, and the provider's very own KeepSolid Wise protocol. We like that there is a selection of VPN protocols since this allows subscribers to customize how secure or fast their connection is. The default protocol is OpenVPN on Windows and IKEv2 on macOS and iOS.

The KeepSolid Wise protocol is great for providing customers with a secure connection in a restricted zone. It takes OpenVPN, scrambles it, and gives it an extra layer of obfuscation, enabling users to get past VPN blocks on the web. You can use this protocol when connecting to restricted networks (like at school or work) or in restrictive regions such as China and Russia.

To keep users safe from malware, KeepSolid VPN has a DNS firewall. The firewall protects users from malware and blocks malicious and phishing sites. For extra security, subscribers can create custom blocklists to whitelist websites that are a threat.

Although KeepSolid VPN Unlimited does not advertise that it is IP, DNS, and WebRTC leakproof on its website, we ran some tests and didn't experience any leaks. This is super important since leaks can reveal your real IP address, location and share your browsing activity with websites.

Extra features include a kill switch on Windows and macOS systems. We ran few tests with the kill switch, and while it mostly worked, we noticed a few issues with the kill switch on Windows. This is unfortunate since a kill switch will cut off your internet connection if the VPN server goes down, and we can't say with certainty that KeepSolid's would work every time.

If you're worried about accessing your VPN account on different devices, you can set up two-factor authentication (2FA). Although we haven't seen many other VPN services offer this feature, we like it since it guarantees that only you can use and control your VPN. Considering that KeepMind is a privacy solution focused company, it makes sense that this is something it would offer to its subscribers.

So, what about how KeepSolid VPN handles user data? The provider states that it has a zero-logs policy, but is that really the case? We checked KeepSolid VPN Unlimited's privacy policy and found that it doesn't log any of the following information: browsing history, connection times, metadata, downloads, server usage, and data. Although KeepSolid VPN does store your real IP address during sessions, it deletes it after the session ends.

However, KeepSolid stores some personal data related to its customers, which isn't unusual as many VPNs do log certain information. This includes details such as email addresses and timezones. Fortunately, the provider assures subscribers that it does not share or sell this information with third parties.

So, while KeepSolid VPN Unlimited does retain a little more information than other VPNs, it also offers many privacy and security features to keep users' web traffic and real identity hidden from online and external third parties.

KeepSolid VPN Unlimited Features

70%

KeepSolid VPN Unlimited offers users access to a relatively small server network with just over 500 VPN servers. However, the network covers many different countries, which is good for subscribers who want to access censored web content from across the globe.

Not only does KeepSolid VPN provide subscribers in restricted countries access to blocked websites, but it works well when bypassing the firewalls of the most popular streaming services. We were able to access Netflix, HBO Max, Hulu, BBC iPlayer, ESPN+, and Disney+, during our tests. The vast number of streaming services KeepSolid VPN Unlimited works with is extremely impressive, and the provider has 10 dedicated streaming servers.

There are also 5 dedicated torrenting servers with support for P2P networking. These are located in the US, Canada, Romania, Luxembourg, and France are marked in the apps so that users can easily connect to them. Unlimited traffic and connection speeds on all the VPN servers ensures that regardless of whether you're torrenting or not, you'll not be slowed down online by any bandwidth limits.

If you don't want to use the shared servers and IP addresses on offer, you can purchase a personal server or static IP address. These are great options for users who need VPNs for business use or who want faster server speeds and without large user loads.

However, both of the above options come at a price, with a static IP from Canada, Germany, France, the UK, the US, Netherlands, or India costing $14.99 per month and a personal server costing $24.99 per month.

You can use KeepSolid VPN Unlimited on up to 10 devices simultaneously, and the provider has dedicated apps for several popular platforms. The apps are full of fantastic features to give subscribers an overall easier VPN experience. Subscribers can employ the 'Optimal Server' feature to allow KeepSolid to connect them to the best server location. Subscribers can also create a list of favorite servers for a fast and easy connection when they open the app.

You can also configure the app to automatically connect to VPN when you join a new wifi network and create a list of trusted networks that don't require VPN protection. We like the amount of customization that people can enjoy with this service and the fact that it is straightforward to configure.

Finally, there is actually a free version of the KeepSolid VPN, called KeepSolid VPN Lite. While this VPN solution offers fewer server locations, it does provide customers with unlimited bandwidth and the same level of encryption and privacy protection.

If you're looking for a decent VPN experience, you can explore one of the several subscription plans that KeepSolid VPN Unlimited has on offer. There is something to please everyone, from the free service to a lifetime membership and other plans in between.

Does VPN Unlimited Keep Logs?

We’ve looked a little at KeepSolid VPN Unlimited’s privacy policy. While the VPN states it operates a zero-logs policy, it does collect some data. This includes:

While it may seem odd that the provider logs this data, it insists that it does so for technical reasons. Many VPNs log user information, but there are also several that don’t, such as VyprVPN. Fortunately, KeepSolid VPN Unlimited does not sell or rent data to third parties without subscribers’ consent.

We’d like to believe KeepSolid’s privacy policy. Still, with no third-party audit to reassure us of whether the provider is really respecting customer privacy or not, the privacy policy is a little open-ended. Since many other providers have started to release transparency reports and audits, we would like to see this from KeepSolid too.

Is KeepSolid VPN Unlimited Safe?

If you’re using a VPN to protect your online privacy and keep your browsing data secure, then you want to know that the service is safe. There are a few ways to tell if a VPN is safe or not. Firstly, does it have advanced encryption? In the case of KeepSolid VPN Unlimited, there is AES-256 bit encryption. This is the highest standard of encryption and guarantees that your browsing data will remain private and impenetrable from attacks by hackers.

It’s also important for a VPN provider to have a no-logs policy so that you can be sure that it won’t be sold or shared with any third parties. KeepSolid’s privacy policy is a good indication of the provider’s commitment to user privacy.

Overall, we believe that KeepSolid VPN Unlimited is safe, especially since users can configure their protocol usage to make their VPN connections stronger. The no-logs policy also checks out since the provider guarantees it isn’t missing customer data.

How Much is VPN Unlimited?

KeepSolid VPN Unlimited has three paid plans on offer. These are the monthly, yearly, and lifetime plans.

All plans come with a 30-day money-back guarantee and 5 simultaneous connections. If you want to add 5 extra device connections, taking it to a total of 10 devices, then you’ll have to pay an extra $14.99 per month. Considering that some VPNs like Surfshark offer unlimited simultaneous connections on all of their plans, we think it’s a little cheeky of KeepSolid VPN to charge its customers more for 5 extra connections.

It’s worth mentioning that each device connection is known as a ‘slot.’ You assign a device to each slot, and once you have filled up all the slots, you need to remove them before you can replace any with a new device. Users can also only delete one device per week, which is a little limiting. It’s a little bit of an unorthodox system, but it’s KeepSolid’s way of ensuring no misuse of its app on other people’s devices.

What is KeepSolid VPN’s Lifetime Subscription?

KeepSolid VPN Unlimited offers a rare lifetime subscription. For just $99.99, subscribers can get access to the services, seemingly, forever.

Many providers have started to pull their lifetime subscriptions since they are economically impractical for companies. So, it’s interesting to see that KeepSolid still offers one. However, it can be a risk for users, especially if the company is new, as it could shut down overnight, leaving customers without access to the product they purchased.

Thankfully, KeepSolid has a good reputation, and so it is unlikely that the provider will do anything untoward when it comes to lifetime subscriptions. However, if you don’t want to commit to the provider for a long time and may even switch companies in the future, we recommend trying out the yearly or monthly plan instead.

Does KeepSolid VPN Have a Free Trial?

You can try out KeepSolid’s VPN services for free, thanks to its 7-day free trial. Unlike many other providers, KeepSolid VPN Unlimited allows subscribers to enjoy the VPN for free without signing up long-term.

What Payment Options Does KeepSolid VPN Accept?

You can pay for KeepSolid VPN in many different ways as the provider accepts all major credit cards and purchases via PayPal. We like the fact that KeepSolid VPN also advertises the fact that it accepts anonymous payment options via cryptocurrencies. If you want to pay by Bitcoin, you can do so and still take advantage of the 30-day money-back guarantee.

What Devices Can You Use KeepSolid VPN on?

Each subscription allows you to use the VPN on a minimum of five devices, but customers can increase this to ten if they wish to. KeepSolid VPN has dedicated apps for many operating systems, including the following:

There are also proxy browser extensions for Opera, Edge, Firefox, and a Chrome extension. The browser extensions have WebRTC leak protection and cookie and tracker blocking.

You can even set up the VPN service on streaming devices such as Apple TV, Amazon Fire, and Google Chromecast.

If you want to subvert the limit of five devices, you can configure the VPN to a router with compatible firmware (such as Tomato or DD-WRT). On the KeepSolid VPN Unlimited website, there are 11 router setup guides to help you give all devices on your network encrypted protection.

Is KeepSolid VPN Unlimited a Fast VPN Service?

Speed is an essential part of a VPN service, especially if you’re using it for streaming or torrenting. Since several factors such as tunneling protocols and server location can affect speed, we decided to test our speed on various servers using different protocols.

We first connected to a server in the US (the New York location) over an OpenVPN connection and had a download speed of 30Mbps. When we changed our protocol to L2TP/IPSec, there was a very slight decrease in speed, but it was expected.

Connecting to a location a little further afield, in the UK, we had a lower ping and a download speed of 26Mbps. We then switched to KeepSolid’s Wise protocol and again experienced a very slight decrease to 25Mbps, but it was nothing major.

Overall, we were impressed with the speed results. A great thing about KeepSolid VPN Unlimited is that subscribers can find the fastest servers in its app. The servers’ user loads are listed in the app to help people choose the one with the lowest workload. The Optimal Server feature also lets KeepSolid VPN work out which is the best server for you in terms of speed, and you can even run a ping test to see which servers are the best.

Does KeepSolid Have Good Customer Service?

Since KeepSolid provides many different security services to customers, we expect the company to have fantastic customer support for all of its products. We were impressed by the customer support on offer for the VPN Unlimited, which includes:

The email support service is fast, and KeepSolid VPN promises customers that it will respond to email queries within one hour. The help center isn’t the best laid out, but it does feature an abundance of helpful guides.

Is KeepSolid VPN Unlimited Easy to Use?

KeepSolid VPN Unlimited provides an easy to use service, making it especially great for people who aren’t familiar with VPN software. Once you have created an account, you can set up slots on five devices and download the dedicated app for each one. While it is possible to set up the service using OpenVPN manually, we recommend using the apps for ease.

The Windows, Android, iOS and macOS apps are similar in terms of use, with a few slight differences concerning features. When you open the app, you’ll be met with a world map and a button that you can tap to start a connection.

There are different app areas, and the servers section has four tabs that divide the servers by function. You can browse through all servers or select from torrenting and streaming servers. The favorites tab allows you to access your preferred servers quickly.

In the settings area, you can choose your protocols. You can either activate the optimal function, which allows KeepSolid VPN to choose the best VPN protocol for your connection, or customize your choice yourself.

There are a whole other host of features you can activate in the app as well. You can switch on the DNS leak feature to prevent DNS leak requests and create a list of trusted networks so that the service deactivates if you connect to a trusted wifi network.

Out of all the providers we have tested, KeepSolid VPN Unlimited is one of the best for providing people with an easy to use service.

Does KeepSolid Unblock Streaming Sites?

As well as providing access to restricted social networks and websites, KeepSolid VPN Unlimited unblocks numerous streaming services, including Netflix. As mentioned, it has optimized high-speed streaming servers on its network for a better streaming experience. Moreover, KeepSolid is one of the few VPNs that can successfully bypass streaming site firewalls, in part thanks to its proprietary protocol.

We first tested the VPN’s ability to access streaming sites in the United States. Unblocking Netflix in the United States is a good indication of a VPN’s ability to bypass firewalls, and we got through to Netflix without any issues. We then were able to access Disney+ and Hulu.

After this, we switched to a UK location, and again, got through to Netflix. Even more surprising, we were able to access BBC iPlayer and enjoy British TV shows. The UK-based platform is notorious for its firewall, with a similar reputation to Netflix, so we were delighted to get through.

The only streaming service where we experienced a little difficulty was with Amazon Prime Video. We tried in various locations, on different streaming servers, and all of our attempts were thwarted. The battle between streaming sites and VPNs is ongoing, so hopefully, soon, KeepSolid will be able to provide access to this platform as well.

Does KeepSolid VPN Unlimited Support Torrenting?

In our opinion, the best VPN providers support torrenting on their network. KeepSolid VPN Unlimited is one such provider with 5 optimized P2P servers in the USA, Canada, France, Romania, and Luxembourg.

While its support for torrenting is limited, it is great to see that users can connect to servers that allow them to access torrent platforms. Since KeepSolid has advanced encryption and a kill switch for Windows and macOS devices, it has essential features that torrenters need to ensure their web traffic stays secure.

Moreover, KeepSolid offers many shared IP addresses, which is, again, great news for torrenters. Shared IP addresses ensure that no activity can be linked back to one single user.

Although the torrenting server location options are limited, we like that they are highlighted in the app. While KeepSolid does support torrenting, it states that it may throttle users’ bandwidth if they access torrent platforms on other servers in its network.

What is KeepSolid?

KeepSolid is a company that offers security services. The company has many different virtual security products on offer alongside its VPN Unlimited, including a password manager called Passwarden and a family organizer app called Fammle.

The company started in 2013, with VPN Unlimited being launched in November 2013. Since then, KeepSolid has increased the products on offer and improved its security technology to keep subscribers more safe and private online.

Where is KeepSolid Based?

Even though KeepSolid was founded by Vasiliy Ivanov, Oleg Bocharnikov, and Vasily Diakonov, who all hail from Romania, its headquarters are now in the United States, in New York. This may raise eyebrows amongst privacy-concerned people since the US is a member of the Five Eyes.

The Five Eyes alliance is an international group made up of several states. The alliance’s goal is to promote international security, and it involves the sharing of citizen data. Many people have an issue with the Five Eyes since it essentially strips away our privacy and gives global governments the right to access our data.

Fortunately, since KeepSolid VPN Unlimited doesn’t store logs, if the US government were to request data from its servers, the provider would not have anything to hand over. However, it is still an important fact to keep in mind.

What is KeepSolid MonoDefense?

KeepSolid MonoDefence is a bundle that includes two of the provider’s most popular products: the VPN Unlimited and Passwarden.

Like the VPN Unlimited, the password manager, Passwarden, can be used on most devices, including Windows, iOS, Android, Windows phone, and macOS. It helps subscribers create extra-strong passwords for their various online accounts and auto-fills them so that they don’t need to remember extraordinarily long passwords.

If you want to purchase MonoDefense and use both products on all of your devices, then you can purchase one of the three plans:

Is KeepSolid VPN Good?

So, is KeepSolid VPN Unlimited a good choice? We think so, especially for VPN novices. Firstly, the VPN is easy to use, and the dedicated apps for Windows, iOS, Android, and macOS are good. Moreover, it has exceptional unblocking capabilities and even works on streaming sites like Netflix.

Although the privacy policy is a little suspicious, due to the provider’s logging of some information, there are some good security features like the many protocol choices and advanced encryption. We also like that the VPN is customizable, so customers can get the VPN to disconnect on trusted wi-fi networks automatically.

Even though the server network is small, it offers decent coverage across many continents, providing many shared IP address options. If you’re new to the world of VPNs, then we recommend checking this service out.
